The 5th wheel hitch I recommend for your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 6-1/2' bed is the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C16541. This hitch uses the R20 slider which is needed for proper turning clearance in your short bed truck. The hitch has an interlocking 2-jaw system that provides a 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact to provide less rattle and more security than slide-bar models. This hitch has a 3-Point indicator system, the color coding tells you if the hitch is ready to uncouple, couple, or tow and the lock indicators are visible from cab.
If you do not have rails in your bed already you will need the Curt Semi-Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC Truck # C65KR. This will provide you with the rails necessary to mount your Curt A20 hitch.
To make hooking up your 5th wheel trailer wiring easier you can use the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C53CR. This is going to allow you to move your 7-way connector up into your truck bed while retaining use of your factory 7-way at the rear of your truck.
