Do Post-Style Guide Ons Have Any Flex in Them

Question:

I just received my CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 40inch Tall. I have very little room for error on how the boat fits on the rollers at the back of the boat. I would like to have the guide posts as close to the boat as possible. The boat is wider towards the center of the boat. If I set the posts close to the back of the boat, would the posts flex enough to allow the center of the boat to go through and then flex back so the posts are close to the boat in the back? Thank you!!!

I think that question is dependent on how much flexing you're talking about. The CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons # CE27626 are made out of PVC pipe so there is some flex that can happen, but a heavy boat could easily snap the PVC if you're needing them to flex quite a bit.

I would try to find a happy medium in their position. It will be okay for the boat to touch them but I wouldn't put them in a spot where the boat will be putting a lot of pressure on them. You'll just need to play with different locations on the trailer to see what works best for your setup.
