What 7-Way Harness Fits a 2001 Toyota 4Runner With a Factory 4-Flat Tow Package Connector
Question:
Can you tell me how to install a 7 way wire plug on a 2001 toyota 4runner? It currently has a tow package with a 4 flat connector. By a local shop I am told that a wire will need to be run back to the battery and that it will involve 3 hours of labordoes this seem correct/reasonable? Thanks

In order to convert your 4-way to a 7-way on your 2001 Toyota 4Runner that has a tow package, you will need the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. Installation time can range up to 3 hours. You were informed correctly, the black wire in the kit will need to be run to the battery.
I have attached a short installation video with this kit on a 2011 Toyota Highlander. Although the vehicle is different, the installation will be similar.
