Question:
Will this rack work with bikes that have rear suspension?

The Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Rack, # LA-102, holds bikes by the seat tube on the frame (see photo). If your bike has a set tube that extends from the seat down to the pedals and enough room to mount the bike on the cradles of the bike rack, then this bike rack will work well for you.
There are many different frame designs for bikes with rear suspension. If your bike does not have a seat tube extending from the pedals to the seat or if the suspension interferes with the seat tube, this bike rack may not work for you. If this is the case, I recommend looking into other options such as a bumper or hitch mount bike rack for your RV or trailer.
To use a bumper mount bike rack, your trailer must have a continuous welded steel bumper. I use the Swagman RV Bumper Mount Bike Rack, # S80501, on my fifth wheel trailer and it does a great job to carry my bikes. To use this bike rack, your bumper must be 4 inches tall and up to 4-1/2 inches wide.
Another option would be a hitch mounted bike rack. There are a few things to keep in mind if you go this route. First, make sure your trailer or RV is capable of having a trailer hitch installed. Not all trailers and RVs can support a hitch mounted accessory. Next, you should choose a hitch mounted bike rack that is rated for use with RVs and trailers. The Swagman Platform-Style Bike Rack, # S64663, is great for bikes with alternative style frames or suspension that prevent the bike from being used on traditional hanging style bike racks. This bike rack can be mounted on the bumper or in a 2 inch trailer hitch as well.
I have attached a link to all of our RV and trailer approved bike racks for you to check out. If you are interested in the hitch mount bike rack options, I have attached a link to our RV and specialty trailer hitches. We carry many hitches that can be welded or bolted to your trailer frame as well as some hitches that mount to the bumper. Again, the bumper must be rated to support the weight of a hitch mounted accessory. Your trailer or RV manufacturer can provide you with that information.
