5th Wheel Landing Gear Slow to Raise & Blowing Fuse

Question:

I have a 40 foot 5th wheeler 2010 Dutchman Grand Junction, UVW 12,320lbs, GVWR 15,500lbs. Beginning about a year ago, I began blowing the 30 amp fuse whenever I tried raising my 5th wheeler. I checked all the wiring to ensure I had no loose connections and good ground - no good. I thought maybe the motor was going bad so I replaced it with Venture M-9000HT which has the same specs as the LG-196308, but that hasnt fixed it. Next I replaced the RV battery as it was the original and possibly weak, but no change. Ive kept up with greasing the jack screws inside each of the legs, so I dont think theyre binding up. For some reason, I can still raise/lower the legs using the remote FOB, but as its raising, it gets increasingly slower. The only other thing to do is replace both legs. Unfortunately, the slide-out hydraulic motor also runs through that same fuse, so when it blows, I can only move the slide-outs and the legs with the remote controller - why that doesnt blow anything I have no idea. Thoughts?

You've done essentially everything that can be done as the normal causes of slow moving landing gear and blowing a fuse are the wiring, a bad motor, a weak battery, or issues with the legs. And the fact the FOB doesn't cause an issue with the fuse is completely bizarre. A fuse blows due to the circuit being overdrawn so is it possible you added some weight at the rear and overloading it where the jacks are?

That can be an issue, or there could be something going on with the switch being bad, so if you haven't replaced that then I think that's something that would be a good idea to do with the Replacement Switch # LG-145236.

Otherwise, the only other conclusion I can come to is the same one you had, that the legs are worn down and need replacing, with the Lead Leg # LG-177202 and Follow Leg # LG-177201.
