Availability of 18 inch Hitch Extension for 2 inch Hitch  

Question:

I have a class 11 hitch and want to tow 2000lb 17 ft boat motor aND trailer total weight combined can I use a q6 or 18 in hitch extension safely

One of the problems with hitch extenders is that they cut the capacity of the hitch they are used in by 50 percent. Which if you have a Class II or Class III hitch that reduction would be too much for a 2,000 lb trailer as they would typically have a 3,500 lb trailer towing capacity. Especially at a 16 or 18 inch extension.

If for some reason you have a 2 inch hitch that has at least a 4,000 lb towing capacity we do have an 18 inch hitch extension that would fit with the part # HE18.
