Parts Needed to Install Trailer Wiring on 2001 Dodge Ram without Tow Package
Question:
I installed CURT 57300 Dodge OEM Harness Dodge 3500 Ram Van. Install went fine, but there is no power at connector—I used a CURT 7 blade socket tester. Anyway, when I checked at fuse box under hood, I discovered the “Trailer Tow Class 3 Only” spot did not have relay installed. I tried to test C57300 by using adjacent relay same part#, but trailer relay spot did not have internal contacts for the relay. It’s just plastic openings. Any ideas on how to proceed.? Thanks.

Your truck does not have the factory tow package wiring so you'd need to go a different route to complete the trailer wiring. You'd need the 4-way kit part # C55329 to provide the trailer wiring and then you'd need to convert to a 7-way with the part # 37185 for if you don't have a trailer with brakes or the part # ETBC7 for if the trailer does have brakes with a brake controller like the Brake EVN # TK63VR.
