Do You Have A Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation For Carbon Framed Bikes
Question:
Do You Have A Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation For Carbon Framed Bikes

The Swagman Current Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, part # S64678, can be used with normal bikes. I do not recommend this type of rack for carbon frames. If at all possible, I try to avoid hitch bike racks that secure the bike by the frame if the frame is carbon. Your carbon frame can suffer catastrophic damage if there is too much clamping force or if your bike frame gets scored during transport, so I tend to err on the side of caution.
My hitch bike recommendation for normal bikes or bikes with carbon frames would be the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount, part # Y02443, it is a 2" hitch bike rack. Your bikes would be held by the wheels instead of the frame of the bike. You will also be able to reduce movement between your hitch receiver and the Yakima HoldUp with the included anti-rattle hitch pin. This will also allow you to lock your bike rack to your Chevy Blazer. You can also lock your bikes to the rack reducing any theft opportunities. Carrying bikes on your this rack will not keep you from accessing the rear of your vehicle. With this rack, you can tilt the mast down when you are carrying bikes or when empty for to access the rear of your vehicle. The last benefit of this rack is the most important benefit. When you finish your ride you can use the included bottle opener to have a cold one.
I have included a product description and a video review below.
