Will the Aftermarket Wire Harness Cause My Lamp Outage Sensor to Come On
Question:
My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a Lamp Outage Module that monitors for brake light failure. The owners manual says that only a factory Mopar harness will be able to bypass this sensor. My question is will adding this after market wiring harness to my vehicle cause my lamp outage module to malfunction or will it continue to work as normal?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the T-One Wiring Harness, item # 118349, will allow your vehicle lighting to function as normal and will not cause a problem with your lamp outage sensor.
The modulite converter on the wiring harness gets the power from the battery to illuminate the trailer lights. Your lamp outage sensor comes on when it senses a draw or lack of it on the lighting system, so the modulite bypasses this sensor and only uses the vehicles circuits as switches to tell the modulite when to turn on the taillights, brake or turn signals.
