Solution for Venture Landing Gear VMC940RB That Blows Fuse

Question:

I have a 2007 Keystone Everest 345. Every time I try to raise the landing gear above a certain level you hear the motor start to strain and the 40 amp fuse blows. The landing gear motor decal on the base has part number 125340. The motor itself has model 1-065-041012-01. The motor fits into a Venture Landing Gear VMC940RB-215569. Do you have replacements for these parts. Would recommend replacing everything?

Expert Reply:

Either the motor is bad and drawing too much amperage due to a bad spot on a coil or the gear box has a problem and is preventing the motor from being able to turn it. If it's a gear box you'd need part # LC276602 or if it's the motor part # LG-196308.

To determine which is bad see if you can use the manual crank handle of the landing gear. If it turns fine by hand it's a motor. If you can't turn it manually then it's the gear box.
