Question:

AWD Buick Encore GX says that it can be flat tow but people tell me no. The book tells me the AWD that you must put it into Accessory , the transmission to N , release the parking brake, disconnect the battery cable on the negative . The part that doesnt make sense to me is it states inch do not tow vehicle with all four wheels on the ground....... So can you tow or not????Thanks any help would be appreciated. Dealer also said the 2021 is the same as a 2022.......

There currently isn't any info available for flat towing equipment for the 2022 Buick Encore GX. It will probably be some time before manufacturers are able to get one in to fabricate the correct equipment.

I do however have flat towing information available for the 2021 Buick Encore GX:

Looking at the online manual for the 2021 Buick Encore GX it states that the AWD models are capable of being flat towed (all four wheels on the ground) but are not capable of being dolly towed (two wheels on the ground). There are some steps to follow to get your vehicle ready in your manual that you'll want to complete. You need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, base plate, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:

Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000lbs Item # RM-522. This tow bar has a non-binding design which allows you to release your vehicle at any time, anywhere on even or unlevel ground and a large hookup radius that makes connecting a breeze at any angle, even if your vehicle isn't perfectly lined up with your RV.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit Item # RM-154. This kit splices into the wiring of your vehicle to signal using the tail lights instead of having to run magnetic lights to the rear of the vehicle every time you want to tow.

Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM32FR for non Sport Touring models and the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM45VR for Sport Touring models.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional Item # HM39524. This system is a reoccurring setup but only requires a few minutes to complete and comes with a charge line kit that will keep your battery charged while towing.

Safety Cables: Curt Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables with S-Hooks - 42" Long - 5,000lbs - Qty 2 Item # C80151. These cables have a coiled design that helps prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.

Since you'll have to disconnect the battery while towing you can install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System Item # RM-766 to make it as easy as flipping a switch.
