Parts Needed To Add 12" Self Centering Keel Roller On Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 EZ Loader trailer for my 14foot Smoker Craft fishing boat, the old black rubber keel roller needs to be replaced. I was looking at the 12 inch CE Smith self centering keel roller, with the two piece universal ruler brackets. my trailer has holes that are 12 3/4 inches apart. Would these work or would I need to have the brackets welded. My current old keel roller is approximately 5 3/8 wide and the inside dimension of the bracket is 5 3/8 . So would it be easier to just replace the old black rubber keel roller with new 5 3/8 long Yates keel roller and new 5/8 shaft and caps. I can see the shaft where the old roller has broken down.

You could use the CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers - Self Centering - PVC - 12" - 5/8" Shaft - Amber but you would need to have new brackets welded on to your 2015 EZ loader boat trailer, or you could drill new holes so you can bolt on the CE Smith Universal-Fit Split Panel Brackets for Boat Trailers # CE10500G. This mounting slots on this bracket should only be roughly 11" apart so you will not be able to reuse your existing holes. You would also need a new, longer roller shaft # CE10727A.

If you did not want to deal with having new brackets welded/bolted on, then using the # YR5244-105EC and shaft # CE10722A would be my recommendation as they are the same dimensions of your current keel roller, and will reuse your current brackets.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
