Why are Retrax Tonneau Covers Recommended for the Yakima OverHaul HD Ladder Rack

Seems like the only recommendations you have for tonneau cover to be used with Yakima overhaul HD are those pricey retrax and power trax. I get it, they are very nice. The only problem for most of us that have short bed 56 such as Tundra Crewmax. The box holding the cover when closed is taking up almost 12inch of the valuable bed space. Are there anything else that may be compatible with the Overhaul HD? BAK flip or?

The reason we recommend Retrax for use with the Yakima OverHaul HD, part # Y01151-58, is not just because the Retrax are great tonneau covers. It's an issue of compatibility.
The OverHaul HD is only compatible with Retrax covers. Since you have the OverHaul HD, your only choices would be to either get one of the Retrax covers or to get a different cover along with a different ladder rack. Getting a new cover and a new rack would end up being more expensive.
So, I recommend using the RetraxONE XR, part # RTT-60831. It's compatible with the OverHaul HD and is one of the more economical choices among the Retraxes.
