can you tell me the thickness or gauges of the steel upright bars and the outside dimensions of the upright. I was thinking about using square tubing to mount to trailer so that is easy to install and remove. I want to be able to haul my motorcyle and pontoon boats at same time.This is for Part #mpg493

We checked with Malone and the uprights of the Malone Top Tier Load Bar Kit # MPG493 are 16 gauge and the load bars are 14 gauge. The uprights are right at 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch.

We have uprights that can attach to utility trailers like with the part #MPG493 which could be the base you could use for your kayak racks. The bars of this are compatible with standard kayak carriers like it sounds like you have as well.
