In order for an air helper spring like what's offered by the Air Lift # AL88216 Load Lifter 5000 system to work effectively, you'll want to be sure that the existing leaf spring suspension on your truck isn't worn or damaged.

A system like # AL88216 won't provide lift over and above the unloaded ride height, but it will provide up to 5000 lbs of extra support to a factory suspension that's in good repair. The nice thing about an air system like this is that you can add or remove pressure from the system as the load varies. This would be a very good choice if you frequently tow heavy trailers or haul loads of various weights in the bed of the truck, but it'd also work well for your truck bed camper. In order for the system to install, you'll need to have at least 7-1/4 inches of space between the frame member and the axle beam.

You might also be interested in an on board compressor system like # AL25856 that would allow you to add or remove air pressure from the system with the flick of a switch. I've linked to a video showing a typical installation of the compressor system.

The Timbren system wouldn't provide lift.
