SumoSpring Helper Spring Recommendation for 2014 Toyota Tundra Hauling a Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2014 4x4 Tundra double cab limited with 6.5foot bed. I haul a travel trailer that weighs around 7,500lbs with a hitch weight of 850lbs. The truck does bottom out and squats, even with the curt weight distribution TruTrack 17500. I cant decide on the Sumospring SSR-610-40 or the SSR-610-47. I do run empty a lot, but am more concerned about my ride while hauling the trailer. Which Sumospring would you recommend?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since you're primarily needing the SumoSprings product to support the tongue weight of your trailer when towing, I'd recommend the lower capacity # SSR-610-40. The 1000 lbs of additional support will be perfect to handle the 850 lb tongue weight of your trailer, but they won't be so stiff that they'll make the truck ride like a buckboard when you're not towing. I've linked to an installation video that you might find helpful. The video shows an install on a Tacoma, but the procedure would be the same on your Tundra.
