Recommended Platform Bike Rack To Clear Spare Tire Of 2021 Jeep Wrangler W/ Factory Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hello, Saw a similar Q about the platform rack clearing the spare tire. It mentioned 6” of clearance needed but also talked about a specific hitch. I have a stock trailer towing package. The rack must clear the back swinging door. What do you recommend.? Thanks!!

For a bike rack that is going to clear and allow you to open the back door of your 2021 Jeep Wrangler with a factory trailer hitch receiver your best option is going to be going with a bike rack and a swing away adapter.
There are quite a few bike racks that will work depending on how heavy your bikes are, and how many bikes you are wanting to carry.
A great two bike platform rack is the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR which will accommodate two bikes weighing up to 66lbs each with tires up to 3-1/4" wide. This rack is perfect for heavier bikes and makes loading the bikes easy by using the included ramp to roll the bikes up on the rack.
If you need to carry more than two bikes then I recommend the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # Y02443-2 which can fit four bikes weighing up to 50lbs each with tires up to 3" wide.
With either of these racks you will want to use the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483 which will give you the additional length to clear the spare tire on your Jeep, and since it it swings away you will have no issues opening the rear doors.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
