The Curt # C56406 will NOT turn off the ParkSense feature of your 2019 Cherokee, but luckily enough, the folks at Jeep had the good sense to make a provision that allows you to turn off that feature temporarily.

You can turn on and turn off ParkSense with the ParkSense switch located below the Uconnect display.
When the switch is pushed to disable the system, the display will show 'ParkSense Off'. When the shifter is moved into reverse while the system is disabled, the display will show 'ParkSense Off'. ParkSense will only be active when the gear is in Reverse or Drive and only up until the vehicle reaches 7 mph or above. A display warning will indicate that the vehicle is above ParkSense operating speed.

This information is also located in your owner's manual, I found it on page 316 of the online pdf. copy of the owner's manual.

So, once the system is temporarily disabled, you'll be able to back the trailer with no problem. If you click the provided link, you can see a video where my buddy Shane will walk you through the installation.
