Recommended Roof Rack System For 2010 Acura MDX With Naked Roof

Question:

Ive investigated a bit to see if there are any direct mount options for my 2010 naked roof mdx for crossbars. The 2010 rdx has an option and Ive seen similar with pilots, but nothing here. Is there a direct mount option for any brand? Or am I going to need to get either oem roof rails or potentially the ones that wrap around the outside into the door frame?

Since your 2010 Acura MDX has a naked roof without roof rails, your only options would be an OEM roof rack as you mentioned, or the aftermarket roof racks which would need to attach to the door jam. This may seem like a flimsy or strange design, but it is very common with any vehicle that has a naked roof and it works very well.

For your vehicle, I recommend going with the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars 54" which are low-profile aerodynamic bars. These will be quiet and have less vibration on the highway compared to other crossbar options. They also feature the common T-slot track which allows for track-mounted accessories to be easily installed or removed. The complete kit for you is as follows:
Silver Crossbars # RRVA137S-2 (for black use # RRVA137B-2)
Legs # RRRLKVA
Fit Kit # DK176

This roof rack has a locking ability which will not only secure your roof rack to the roof, but also keep your track-mounted accessories safe. The weight capacity for this roof rack system is 110lbs. I checked the owner's manual for your vehicle and it states that it has a roof weight capacity of 165lbs so just make sure you don't exceed the 110lbs weight capacity of the roof rack. I attached a demonstration video for you to check out.
