Will Installing a T-one Vehicle Wiring Harness With Module Drain the Battery?
Question:
I purchased the Tekonsha 118727 for my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and scheduled U-Haul to install. They said this wiring will drain my battery since the Jeeps break lights now have power running through them even when the car is off. Thus, they would not install. Is this true? Im planning to just install myself if there is nothing to be concerned of with the battery for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and this part.

You are perfectly fine to install this on your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The power wire runs to the module in the wiring harness. The module acts as a relay which your vehicle has lots of that don't run down the battery unless they are being used. When you activate your brake lights or signals the module senses their activation and sends power from your battery to control the lights on the trailer. This helps to prevent drawing to much power from the vehicles electrical wires that may cause damage without the module.
