Mounting Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack On 2019 Cherokee With Factory Side Rails
Question:
I have the Rhino Rack Universal Pioneer Platform and would like to mount on my 2019 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk with OEM roof rails running front to back. I see on the larger Pioneer Platform that they suggest using the SX100 Legs to do this, however I don’t see this solution for the smaller 58”x47” Universal. Can you provide a similar solution for my application?

The reason you can use the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack - Raised Side Rails - 60" Long x 49" Wide # RR77AB on your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is because this roof rack is compatible with OEM side rails. The Rhino-Rack Universal Pioneer Platform Rack for Crossbars - Aluminum - 58" Long x 47" Wide # RR42115BF does not fit factory side rails and can only be clamped onto crossbars running left to right.
Therefore, I recommend going with # RR77AB since it will fit your current setup. But if you really wanted to use # RR42115BF then you will first need to install crossbars onto your side rails. I would look into Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - 49" Long # RRVA126B-2 along with the necessary legs # RRSX100. I attached a demonstration video for you.
