Curt Base Plate for 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK With Aftermarket Bumper

Question:

Curt Base Plate for 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK. I want install base plate and not use aftermarket bumper d-rings. Not sure on which base plate needed. Have aftermarket bumper and larger 315’s on 17” wheel, no lift yet. Believe there is enough space under after market bumper for either model 33fr and 38fr. Eventually getting 2.5” lift, so would the 38fr be better with lift since height is lower to the ground and be more in line/level with rv hitch?

Since you have an aftermarket bumper, the correct Curt base plate for your 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK that is a verified fit is the following:

- Curt Custom Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # C33FR

The the other base plate you mentioned is designed for standard factory bumpers, and since you are getting a lift, what you will need is simply a high-low adapter, depending on the amount of drop you need. For example, if your Jeep was quite a bit higher and you needed a 10 inch drop you would use the Blue Ox High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2" Hitches - 10" Rise/Drop # BX88132.

I have added a link below for you to a help article explaining how to determine the correct high-low adapter, as well as a link to our entire selection of adapters.

Along with these parts you'll also need a few other things in order to flat tow your 2008 Wrangler:

- Curt Rambler Steel Tow Bar # C26FR

- Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154

- Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766

- Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494

I have added links below to some video reviews of there parts for you to check out as well.
