Availability of Trailer Hitch for 1996 Ford Taurus With Dual Exhaust
Question:
1996 taurus duel exhaust need trailer hitch
asked by: Keith J
Expert Reply:
According to Curt Manufacturing, their # C12232 Class II hitch fits all models of the 1996 Ford Taurus, including the SHO and wagon. As long as your exhaust system is in the stock position, the hitch will fit great.
If you'll be using the hitch for light duty towing, you'll also need a # C45522 ball mount and a # PC2 hitch pin and for a trailer ball use # A-80 for a 1-7/8 inch or # A-82 for a 2 inch ball. For trailer wiring you will use # C55343 if you have the wagon and # HM40565 if you have the sedan.
The Draw-Tite # 24699 you'd looked at isn't a fit for the SHO, which had a dual exhaust.
