Length of Cables for Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 5 Foot Wide Enclosed Trailer
Question:
I am considering purchasing a 362SA5 for a 5 ft wide trailer door. My concern is knowing that the cable/action is long enough for the door to go all the way down. Should I be measuring something to confirm? Also, it says that it has an 85 pound capacity. If my door weighs more than 85 pounds will it break or just still be a little hard to lift? Thanks for your response.

I reached out to the manufacturer, who told me the cable was 135 inches long for the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 5' Wide Enclosed Trailer # 362SA5.
What you will do is measure from the top of your door down to the bottom of the door and if it measures up you can use the spring. In regards to capacity, the 85 lbs is the max weight the door can be to safely use the ramp door spring.
If you need more capacity or a longer spring, for a longer 150 inch cable and 120 lb door capacity, you can use the Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 6' Wide Enclosed Trailer # 362SA6.
This will fit 38" to 69" wide trailer doors so it can be used with your 5 foot wide trailer door.
