How to Wire a Stop/Turn/Tail Trailer Light With Two Wires to a Trailer

I have new Tail Lights, there are only a red wire and a black wire how do I wire for Running , stop, and turn .

It sounds like you have a trailer taillight that grounds through the mounting hardware. Typically the red wire would run to the turn signal/stop light circuit and the black would run to the taillight circuit, and then the ground circuit would be complete through the mounting hardware.

I have this same question on a semi trailer. Using your logic how would the turn signal work if it was wired with the stop? Won't the stop connection end up lighting both sides on a signal, whether it left or right?

A typical trailer wiring setup always combines the stop and turn circuits onto a single wire (one for each side of the trailer). The signal would come from the tow vehicle so when using the left or right turn signal it will only travel down the left or right combined wire.
