How do I decide on the proper hitch height for a 5th wheel hitch? I currently have a 2018 F-150 Max tow/trailer package, 6 1/2 bed.

The reason fifth wheel hitches are height adjustable is to allow you to pick a setting that will allow your trailer to be towed level. One way to get the height setting would be to measure from the pin box surface of your trailer down to the ground when the trailer is level and also from the truck bed height down to the ground. The difference between these two dimensions would be the height setting to use.

The king pin standards of trailers has not changed so a modern fifth wheel hitch like the Reese part #RP30047 will fit and attach to it. For a universal rail kit for your truck since I don't know what you have the #RP30035 fits most trucks.
