Difference Between Trailer Hitch Receivers That Fit 2013 Ford Transit Connnect
Question:
Hi, I have a 2013 Ford Transit Connect and you carry 3 different hitches for it. One style requires the exhaust to be dropped to install and one does not. Other than the install method, what's the difference? What's the downside to the easier to install unit that goes under the exhaust?

The only difference between the the 2" hitches that fit your 2013 Ford Transit Connect is, in fact, the installation that you mentioned. There is no downside whatsoever to the the easier-to-install unit, which is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75678.
That easier install is actually why I recommend the Draw-Tite over the 2" Curt Trailer Hitch # 13076, as they otherwise have the same capacities, are both rated for use with weight distribution, and have the same clearances. And just in the interest of being thorough, you did mention there are three hitches for a '13 Transit Connect, and the third is the Curt # C12076. This hitch has a smaller 1-1/4" receiver though and there is no reason to use it over either of the 2" hitches.
I also wanted to add that if you plan on doing some towing with your van and need a wiring harness, the correct part is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118585.
I have added links below to video installs for you to check out of both the wiring harness and the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75678.
