What Spindle Does Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1058D11HD Fit
Question:
This kit calls for a #99 spindle. This spindle has an inner bearing dimension of 2.000 inches. This kit also says it fits to a 82883 hub. This hub has an inner bearing 387a with a dimension of 2.250. Somethings off. What one is it? The description also states “simply slip the rotor over the hub”. This can’t be right. You would need to remove the entire hub assembly and bolt the supplied rotor to the old hub correct? I’ve been looking to upgrade my 1997 dexter 10k axles to disk.

Expert Reply:
The disc brake kit part # K2R1058D11HD that you referenced was designed to fit on hubs for the 99 spindle like the part # 8-288-3UC1. The 99 hub like you mentioned does have bearing diameters of 2.25 inch as well as 1.75 inch so you are correct.
The description does say it's a slip-on style disc brake kit which is a bit oversimplified like you mentioned since this does require the hub coming off to fit the brake flange on.
