Components Needed for a 2016 Honda Odyssey to Tow a Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2016 Honda Odyssey that currently has a Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver 75270 installed and a T-One Vehicle harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector 118521 installed. I am looking at purchasing a 2021 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 7 154BH. Can you tell me what else I need to be able to tow that Travel Trailer?

There are a few components you need to haul your 2021 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 7 154BH with your 2016 Honda Odyssey.
Since you already have the Draw-Tite Hitch, part # 75270, and the T-One Harness, part # 118521, the remaining necessary components are: a ball mount and pin, a hitch ball, 7-way wiring, and a brake controller.
For the ball mount, there is some information needed before you can make a final decision on which one to get. You need to know the difference between the height of your hitch and the height of the coupler of the trailer. Luckily, you already know the hitch height on your Odyssey (12-1/4"), so you only need to measure the Jayco's coupler after you get it. Once you know the difference, you will know what "rise" or "drop" you need to make the two the same height. I've linked to a list of our ball mounts for you to look at once you know that. Many of these come with pins and clips, but I've linked to a list of these as well in case the one you choose doesn't.
For the hitch ball, you need to know the coupler size of your Jayco. It looks like it's 2-5/16”, but you'll need to check your manual to be sure. I've linked to a list of these as well.
For the 7-way, since you already have a 4-way, you only need the etrailer Universal Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. This will hook up to the 7-way on your Jayco. I've linked to a video installation of this kit for your reference.
Finally, the brake controller. This will make it so the brakes of your Jayco activate instead of just pushing up against your vehicle. I recommend the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195, as this is one of our most highly-rated controllers. I've linked to a video installation of this controller as well.
