Should Swagman Chinook Bike Rack Carry a Carbon Frame Bike
Question:
In the description of this item, it SAYS: No, if you have a Carbon Frame... etc My question is because it seems to have a FOAM in the hooks and also it seems it has no CLAMP that could scratch or damage the Carbon Frame of an MTB. Is it suitable for a Carbon Frame? In case it does not, can you explain why? Thanks!!!!

Carbon frames are considerably more delicate than metal ones so even though the Swagman Chinook part # S64683 has pads on the frame hooks we do not recommend the rack with a carbon frame. We won't stop you from buying it but it would not be your best option.
Instead you'd want a bike rack that only touches the bikes at the tire like the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 part # SA4025F.
