Recommended Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2007 Toyota Matrix XR
Question:
I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix XR and Ive been looking at the Curt #C12013 and #C12228. #C12013 says it will the XR, and #C12228 says it wont. I want my receiver to be as high as possible so #C12228 looks to be ideal. Is it not advertised as a direct fit because of fascia trimming, or will it not work at all? Thanks!

The reason the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12228 is not listed as a confirmed fit on your 2007 Toyota Matrix XR is because it was designed to fit the 2009-2013 Matrix.
For your 2007 Matrix XR you will need to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12013 which is the only confirmed fit for your vehicle made by Curt, and as you can see in the picture I included, it will install very close to the rear bumper to give you plenty of ground clearance.
You will need to use the Stabilizing Strap # 18050 for any non-trailer loads.
If you can tell me what you are planning on using your trailer hitch receiver for I would be happy to recommend the best products for your needs.
