Adding the Cantilever to the Thule TracRac

Question:

I was assembling my THULE Trac Rac . I came to the part of the process, when adding the Cantilever Extension, where you have to remove the factory saddle on the upright to replace it with the cantilever modular accessory saddle. I couldnt remove the bolts on the factory saddle. Is there a trick to getting these bolts out? I tried with quite a bit of force. Didnt want to brake any thing

The bolts on the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever part # TH27000XT-EX can be pretty stiff. Generally there is a small amount of blue Loctite that helps to hold every thing together. This is very likely what you are fighting.

Most of the time when removing them I like to use a small 1/4" bit driver or a 1/4" impact this gives more rotational force with the gentle impact to free them up. When using the hand tools it can cause some side force that doesn't help to loosen them.
