Can Hitch Extender be Used With Truck Bed Load Extender
Question:
I need a longer pickup load extension than the approximately 4 feet length that is available. Im thinking about adding a 24 inch hitch extension to my present hitch and dropping the load extension into that which would then give me a 6 foot extended bed. What do yall think?

It is possible to use a hitch extender to get some added clearance along with a truck bed load extender like the
Erickson Big Bed JR Load Extender # EM07605.
Just make sure to keep in mind that hitch extenders are adapters, and they will reduce the capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent, including the tongue weight. So you may not be able to use the full capacity of the truck bed extenders, but if you just need it for lighter applications you can use an extender.
For either bed extender, I do recommend locking it to your hitch with the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880.
