Which Rating Of Camper To Look At When Deciding On New Truck
Question:
Hi there. Quick question. What specifation figure on my camper do I go with when I go purchase a new pickup truck? Do I go with the campers Base weight, the campers GVWR or the campers cargo capacity ? I want to make sure I can get the right truck to tow my camper and family safely. Thank you for your help.

That is a great question!
You are going to want to go with the Camper's GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) which is the weight of the camper plus the maximum cargo weight allowed by the camper manufacturer. This will be the heaviest the camper can safely weigh according to the manufacturer's specifications.
I included a few helpful articles that goes over our take on the best trucks for towing in 2020 for you to take a look at.
Once you decide on your new truck, if you can provide the Year/Make/Model I would be happy recommend the best products to fit your towing needs.
