What is Difference Between Tow Pro Elite, Liberty, and Classic

Question:

Hello, Im interested in the RedArc TowPro trailer brake controller for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory trailer wiring. This is for a 1 or 2-axle trailer. What is the difference between the TowPro and the TowPro Elite? Is it just the off-road capability of the Elite? Thanks,

The Redarc Tow Pro Classic is a time delayed brake controller which means it applies a predetermined amount of braking power over time every time you apply the vehicle brakes. The Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR has the ability to be time delayed as well as proportional which is definitely the preferred style of brake controller. Proportional means it senses how hard you are applying the vehicle brakes and applies a relative amount to the trailer brakes. Time delayed really is only is helpful in off-road situations where bumps and elevation changes would confuse the inertia sensor of a proportional controller.

Another option is the Tow Pro Liberty # RED24FR which is the best value by far. It gives you just the proportional mode that most would want and comes in at a really great price. To install it in your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee all you'd need is the # RED77FR which also works with all of the other brake controllers mentioned as well.
