Which Hitch Pin Hole to Use for Bike Rack with Draw Tite Hitch # 76253
Question:
I have a DRAW-TITE RECEIVER HITCH #76253 and Yakima ridgeback 4. There are two sets of holes on the left side but depending on how far into the receiver you go the two separate holes for the safety pin line up in different locations. Is it better to have the hole closest to the vehicle line up and place the pin there? this means the ridgeback hitch is further back near the opening of the receiver otherwise the first set of holes furthest from the vehicle allows the ridgeback to be pushed in further into the receiver. Not sure what the proper and recommended positioning is?

Expert Reply:
The Draw Tite hitch part # 76253 does have two holes in the hitch opening but only one of them is actually designed for use as a hitch pin hole for your bike rack. The other hole, the smaller one is not used.
