Weight Distribution for 2016 Mercedes Sprinter Towing 6,000 lb Trailer
Question:
Hi, Based on MB technical specs, the 2016 Sprinter 3500 170inch WB Passenger Van/Chassis Cab based on vin its a Chassis Cab with upfitted Van by the factory, but model code indicates Cargo Van has a Maximum towing capacity of 7500 lbs. I can provide VIN if necessary. I have not found a 7500 lbs GTW Capacity Trailer hitch receiver for this vehicle. I have seen pics of the OEM hitch and it seems even that has a 7500 lbs Max towing only with weight carrying option. 1. What is the maximum capacity hitch I can have for the 2016 Sprinter 3500 170inch WB Chassis Cab / Passenger / Cargo Van? Single oversize rear wheel 2. What is the best option for Weight Distribution hitch for that Hitch? 3. What else do I need for a complete installation? I just want a setup, where I can safely tow 6000 lbs with leverage for occasional extra 1500 lbs added for the towing load or comfortable cushion if you will. Thank you.

If you are sure an OEM hitch has a 7,500 lb towing capacity without weight distribution that would be the highest rated option as none of the options we have are near that capacity.
For a weight distribution system for the range you mentioned the # RP66083 would work well as it has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and features best sway control at preventing sway before it starts.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
