Recommended Replacement and Upgrade For AL-KO 10x1-3/4 Electric Brakes

Question:

I have a Keystone Summerland with dual 3500 AL-KO axles and 10x1-3/4 electric breaks. AL-KO was bought out by Dexter and from what I have been told is the 10x1-3/4 breaks are obsolete. Do you have a 10x2-1/4 break that will fit the existing spindle or am I looking at replacing the axels?

Helpful Expert Reply:

For your Keystone Summerland with AL-KO axles, the brakes and hub/drum assemblies will need to be upgraded as the magnets are no longer available for your application. You do not need to replace the axles, just the brake assemblies and hubs. I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA which uses the 10" x 2-1/4" self-adjusting brakes, and the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K which is compatible with these brake assemblies and your axles. .
