Solution for 2020 Ram with Flat Towing Braking System that Presses Brake Pedal for Turn Signals
Question:
My motorhome tow plug has a combined brake/tail light and my 2020 Ram 1500 has separate brake and turn lights. I am also considering installing an AirForce One supplemental brake system which push’s down the brake pedal. I am concerned that when the brake pedal is pushed it will send a signal to the brake light which could cause a turn signal to be invisible. So my solution is to install a Curt 56196-2 “2 to 3 wire light converter” so the amble turn signal will work. According to what I have read an additional 2 diodes would also be needed. Some say the pickup electrical system will go into a sleep mode after a short period of time which would eliminate the problem. However, I have not been able to confirm this for 2020 1500 Ram Limited. Do you have a simpler solution or will this work?

Roadmaster actually has their Brake Light Relay part # RM-88400 for this exact situation. This prevents the supplemental braking system from applying the brake lights and preventing the turn signals wired to the same circuits from flashing.
