Weak Lights When Using Turn Signals on Trailer for 2008 Chevy Silverado
Question:
When either turn signal is turned on the other side blinks dimly, only on trailer. Looks the same on test plug plugged into trailer connector. Is there a pro-logic module or something on my truck that needs to be replaced. 2008 Chevy 2500 HD with separate fuses for trailer lights.

Getting weak trailer lights when turn signals come on is very often the result of a couple of issues. The most likely of which is a weak ground, so you'll want to ensure your grounds are securely attached to bare metal surfaces free of any paint, dirt or corrosion. Check that first, and the issue will likely be resolved.
If not, the issue is probably corrosion or other problem with the connector on your trailer or 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. If this is the case, you can try to clean it, but if you can't clean it well enough, or it is damaged, you will need to replace the connectors. For your trailer, if it is a 4-way that is the 4-Pole Trailer End Connector # 18004, or if you have a 7-way, the 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector # H20043.
If you see your Chevy's connector is problematic, and you have the factory 7-way the correct replacement is the Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955.
I also strongly recommend keeping your connectors clean and safe by using Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755.
