Parts Needed When Installing Supplemental Braking on 2006 Jeep Liberty

Question:

2006 jeep liberty w/power assisted brakes. I was going to purchase Roadmaster RM 9160 but it said it does not work with power brakes. I have Air brakes on my motorhome, and would like to utilize them. Does Roadmaster have a system like RM 9160 but would work with power brakes? PS I hate typing. I ordered seat bracket and brakaway cables. Anything else

Helpful Expert Reply:

The # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn. This as well as the Roadmaster BrakeMaster Custom Seat Adapter # RM-88149 will help you when using the Roadmaster BrakeMaster System w BrakeAway for RVs w Air or Air Over Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # RM-9160 on your 2006 Jeep Liberty but as you stated it is not power assist brake compatible.

Instead, I recommend using the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700 along with the same # RM-88400 relay which is compatible with the power assist brake systems and the air brakes on your motorhome. You won't need the custom seat bracket for this system and it doesn't require installation each time you tow.
