After it has been secured, this Blaylock EZ Lock ensures peace of mind by keeping would-be thieves from hooking the lunette ring on your trailer to their pintle hitch and towing your trailer away. Simply position the lock's 2 pieces above and below the eye of the lunette ring, slide the 3/4" diameter steel pin down through the lock, and secure the pin in place with a padlock (sold separately). The coupler lock fits lunette rings with 2-1/2" or 3" inner diameter.

Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Blaylock aluminum EZ lock trailer coupler lock for lunette ring couplers. Now this coupler lock will help prevent theft of a trailer that has a lunette ring coupler on it that accepts a pintle hook. This lock is a nice aircraft-grade lightweight aluminum construction. It's very strong, resists wear and corrosion. Does consist of these two heavy-duty cast aluminum discs that'll fit inside your lunette ring coupler.
And then this 3/4 inch diameter steel pin that'll slide through the center of the lock. So once these are in your lunette ring coupler, you just slide this up through the center and then you'll lock it in place with a padlock. Now it does require a padlock to lock the pin in the lunette ring and keep it from being removed. Now I do wanna show you what we're talking about. Here's a lunette ring, and this will work.
This lock will work on either a 2 1/2 inch or 3 inch lunette ring, meaning the inner diameter measurement. This one happens to be a 3 inch diameter one, so it'll work on that. And I mentioned it does require a padlock. I happened to pull the padlock that it needs. It's this Master Lock padlock.
We sell it separately on our website, it's part number ML40D. Now this part number, it does not include the lock, so you would have to buy that separate to add for this, But just to show you how this works, what you'll do is take one of the disk, the pin, and it goes up through the bottom, take the other disk, slide it over there, then you have your hole right here. And then what you'll do is just open up your shackle, turn it to lock it, take out the key, and that's locked into place. And it keeps those two disks in the lunette ring. Keeps anybody from coming up to your trailer that's unattended and they hook their pintle hook up to it and just take it away.
So with this in here, there's no way they're going to be able to hook up to it. And then to remove it, all you have to do is take your key then, put it back in there, remove the shackle. And as I mentioned in this part number that I'm demonstrating here, this lock is not included. Now we do sell the lock separately by itself, it's ML40D. We do also sell the complete kit if you want. And that would be this lock here with the padlock. And that goes by part number BLTL-60-40D. And usually these products that I'm mentioning that we sell separately are listed on the product page of this one here I'm going through. This part is made in the USA. Few specs on this again. It is designed to fit most lunette ring couplers that have a 2 1/2 inch or 3 inch diameter eye, and the weight on this lock is only about three pounds. This is a simple and effective lock for lunette ring couplers. It is quick and easy to use, and gives me peace of mind when I have to leave my trailer at the jobsite. Purchased to help secure a valuable portable generation unit. Needed something to help prevent theft along with other measures to protect this high value piece of equipment. We use a keyed alike shield master lock instead of a disc lock to try and shield the pin from direct breach.

The head of the pin is not much larger than the hole in the disk. I thought it might be easy to drive it through the aluminum disk, so I bought a steel washer to prevent that. I think that would be a good product improvement. Otherwise it works well and the delivery was quick. Thanks.

So far so good. When I ordered the item, your operator seemed to want me to have ups deliver it or pay the lower rate of snail mail and they said it would be up to two weeks before I received it. I decided to go the cheaper route of the us postal service and I received my item within only a few days. Just felt like I was being nudged in the more expensive direction.
