2020 Ford Ranger Base Plate Installation
Question:
When I take the bumper off do I have to worry about air bag sensors? Also, should I dis-connect the battery before beginning the installation of this base plate assembly?

When installing the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-524459-5 or anything similar like wiring it is always a good idea to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any accidental issues with a plug accidentally grounding when you do not intend it to.
To be honest we do not always show doing it when we install items here in the shop but it is the safest way for a majority of vehicles.
