Comparing Lock N Roll Hitches Drop and Rise
Question:
I need a for my existing LockNRoll set up but specs are different from your site and LockNRoll, and dont make sense. The 517 appears to be a shorter bracket in photos however is a larger spec at 4.5? The 503+507 combo appears to be a longer bracket channel but less spec at 4.25. What is this calculated from? Im trying to get an accurate from the standard 501 hitch I have now. Can you put this and 336VS517 side by side and photo?

The Lock N Roll # 336VS517 has a rise or drop of 4 1/2", and the Lock N Roll # # 336VS503505 has a rise or drop of 4 1/4".
The main difference between the 2 Lock N Roll hitches # 336VS503505 and # 336VS517 is that the # 336VS503505 is adjustable. There's 3 different positions it can be mounted in the channel. The holes are spaced 2" apart, so 4 1/4" is the lowest and highest setting, about 2" for the middle position, no drop or rise at the third position.
The # 336VS517 is not adjustable and has a maximum drop or rise of 4 1/2" with no adjustments.
To find the appropriate rise or drop for a ball mount, park you trailer on flat level ground and level the trailer. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. Then park your tow vehicle on level ground and measure from the ground to the top of the receiver tube. The difference between the two measurements is the rise or drop you need. If the trailer is higher then you need a rise, if the trailer is lower than you need a drop mount.
I linked the hitches mentioned above, as well as a help article that has a ton of useful ball mount information.
