In regards to selecting a gooseneck trailer hitch for a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500, weight should not really be a big determining factor as all options will far exceed the capabilities of the tow vehicle. Instead, I would instead look at some of the unique features. I really like the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch part # BWGNRK1313 because of the square hitch ball design that helps prevent it from getting stuck but also helps to reduce rattle. I will also like to point out that B&W has some of the best customer service on the market and will do pretty much anything they can to take care of a customer no matter the circumstance. This is the "buy once, cry once option" and my strong recommendation.
