Question:

Good Morning I am looking to trailer tow my minivan with our bus and looking for a heavy class 3 or class 4 hitch. The fram3 rails are 35inch interior spaced and 18 inches above the ground, with bolts accessible for both side and bottom attachment which hitch do you have that would make this application successful. For a hitch strong enough for towing with your 1998 Thomas Saf-T-Liner I recommend Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop - Class III - 2" Item # C13701. It is a bolt on hitch. The side brackets can be adjusted from 18" to 51" wide to accommodate different frame widths. Has a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. A 500 lb max tongue weight which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube and 5000 lb max towing capacity which is the trailer plus anything loaded on it. I always recommend never exceeding the max towing capacity of the RV. Always go with the lowest number between the hitch and the motor home.
