Will Installation of a Trailer Hitch for a Bike Rack Void the Warranty on a 2012 Toyota Prius

Any effect of this installation on the vehicle warranty? I intend to use it exclusively for a removable bike carrier. What does the permanent installation Part #24847 weigh?

I know that on some past Toyota Prius models Toyota states that you cannot tow or use a hitch to carry cargo. You will need to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if this is also true for your 2012 model. If so then if you install a hitch and it causes something to break on the vehicle then that would void the warranty. If Toyota says that you can use a hitch for a bike rack then unless the hitch causes something to break on the vehicle it will not void the warranty.

Trailer hitch # 24847 weighs approximately 20 pounds. I have included a link to the instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you.
