The measurement you need in order to determine if the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G will work is the height from the top of the gooseneck hitch ball to the base of your king pin, so you would need to take that measurement. If it is between 12" and 16" then this will work, so you do need to have both of those things already installed, of course.

A gooseneck would give you a cleaner truck bed than 5th wheel rails but the other option you mentioned will also be simple, the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter # AM3200.

This weighs just 40 lbs so you could very easily remove it when you aren't towing to utilize your truck bed. Both are simple options but the Andersen is the most likely to work for your truck bed height because it has a maximum height of 18 inches. Base rails will add about another 1" to 1-1/2" of height to that.

If you let me know the year, make, and model of your truck I can recommend the base rail and installation kit you need. I have also added links to video reviews for you to check out.
