Yes, this hitch # 13147 does fit both the 2009 and 2010 Subaru Foresters. It is actually confirmed as a fit for the 2009-2013 Subaru Foresters all models.
This hitch is a Class III hitch that has a 2 inch receiver opening that is rated for up to 4,000 pounds trailer weight and 400 pounds of tongue weight. Please make sure that you check the towing capacity of your Subaru and make sure that you abide by the lowest rated component of the systems.
Per the Curt warranty all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth are required to be supported with stabilizing straps like the # 18050.
If you will be using this trailer hitch for towing you might be interested in the following items that will complete a towing system:
Etrailer Ball mount kit # 989900 - includes 2 ball mounts, 1 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, 1 2-inch trailer ball, a pin and clip, and a bag.
