Derale # D13900 Remote Mount Transmission Cooler for 2004 Ford F150
Question:
i have an 04 f-150 4x4 crew cab, will this work on it? also is there a thermostat switch available for this. is there another one i should consider. im not sure what the AN size is, would you know? is it okay to install this in addition to the stock cooler? i definitely want the fan, i had one on another truck it it worked great. engine is 5.4 L

I would recommend using the # D13900 which includes the 6AN to 3/8 inch hose barb fittings, which would be the correct size fitting for the 3/8 inch transmission lines of your 5.4L engine. You would also need two sections of the # D13003 11/32 inch hose.
The fan is thermostatically controlled to actuate when the fluid temperature reaches 180 degrees, but you can omit installing the sender and manually control the fan by using an optional switch # D16740, although I would recommend using the sender.
The remote cooler can be used in conjunction with your factory cooler, the aftermarket cooler would be tapped into the return line from the OE cooler to the transmission.
I have linked you to some FAQ articles about transmission cooler that you might find helpful.
